Community Groups

Sign-up for 2012 Spring Groups is NOW OPEN!

Our sign-up period for the Spring Semester is coming to a close.  It’s been a great success.  Over half of our Adult weekend attendance is in a Community Group.  THAT’S AWESOME!!

Sure, we’d love for that number to be 100%, but not because we’re trying to hit a quota or make our ministry look good.  We just know that Live Happens Best In Community, and we don’t want anyone at Crossroads to miss out on that!

If you’re still thinking about joining a group, there are a few that are just starting this week and there is still time to get involved.

The Truth Project is a great study that goes deep into the formation of a biblical World View.  This is a great opportunity if you’ve been a Christian for a while but want to go deeper in your understanding.  This study will be the topic for two different Community Groups; one meeting at 11:15am right after the Sunday Service and one on Sunday Evening at 5pm.

If you’re in your twenties and would like to be in a group with others in that out-of-college, first career stage of life, there is a Community Group just for you.  Pastor Glen will lead a study based on the video series, That The World May Know.  It’s a fascinating walk through the Holy Land, learning the significance of many of the places and people that form the context of our Bible.  Oh yeah, there’s FOOD!!

Or maybe you’d like to give your relationship a tweak.  It turns out that Men Are Like Waffles and Women Are Like Spaghetti.  Who knew??  Actually that’s the title of a great video study that will help men and women understand and APPRECIATE the differences between them.  This is a Sunday night group and there is childcare available.

To sign up or for more information on Groups, contact Pastor Corbett at corbettre@gmail.com or (515) 287-8580 ext. 4.

Have you ever made a decision to change some behavior in your life and worked really hard at it, only to fail? Real transformation that results in a lasting change, rather than just a futile attempt at a forced behavior change, takes place when we change our thinking patterns.

The Ultimate Journey focuses on the biblical model of bringing about real change by renewing our minds, or in other words, by changing our thinking patterns.

This process takes place in three phases:

Phase one deals with the PAST (13 weeks)
Phase two deals with the PRESENT (13 weeks)
Phase three deals with the FUTURE (13 weeks)

New sessions begin periodically.

Be inspired to see how your day-to-day story intersects with God’s grand, overarching epic of everlasting redemption. Your journey of faith will come alive as you explore the divine narrative through New Testament and contemporary characters, and discover how the Bible reveals God’s plan for you today.

Opportunities for Ladies

Norwalk Moms Group

This is an exciting addition to the Norwalk community! They are a diverse group of moms who share the goals of getting to know others, enjoying time with our children during day and evening events, and making time for themselves with fun moms-only nights! They meet in the Norwalk and Des Moines areas to enjoy experiences, play spaces, and meals. Events vary month to month and are scheduled by the leaders and members. If they sound like a group you'd like to share time with, they'd love to have you! Find them at Meetup.com/NorwalkIowaMoms. If you have questions email Lisa Holton.
