2012 Education Wing Addition
So much has been happening since Crossroads voted on December 11, 2011 to build an education addition.

Our goal to build debt-free began with a campaign to raise $130,000, which when paired with the $30,000 we have currently in our building fund, will bring us to the $160,000 we need for the expansion. While gifts will be accepted past March 31st, everyone is encouraged to have their donations in by that date so we are able to get an accurate picture of the total raised.

The great news is that we are four-fifths of the way to reaching our goal of $130,000.00!!

In February we held a bake sale as well as a silent auction of specialty baskets.  The total amount raised through these two fund raisers was almost $3,700.00!!  In addition Scrip, a fund raiser using store gift cards produced $5,000.00 for the building fund -- all at no cost to anyone.  Want to know more about Scrip is and how you can help raise FREE money through the Scrip program?  Click here.

Recently the preliminary site plan was presented to the City of Des Moines. As other plans and drawings are completed, they too will be presented to the city for approval. The amazing thing is that almost all of this is being done by the qualified volunteers who are already a part of Crossroads. The whole reason we can realistically build for $160,000 instead of more than $350,000 is that we have so many people here who can lend their talents. You also will have a chance to jump in as we begin construction, so get ready!

But before we can lift a hammer or a screw gun, we have to finish this fund raising campaign strong.  There is light at the end of the tunnel.  We are almost at the end of the campaign.  Let's reach and even exceed our goal!
